2025 was a banner year for us at Capital.
We launched our own private label brand of heating and cooling equipment, added permanent decorative lighting to our offerings, broke another major fundraising goal, hit a milestone in our reviews, and more.
It’s exciting and humbling to see this business grow and to know that at the core of it all are our new and longtime customers who continue to cheer us on, refer us to friends, and trust us with their comfort and safety.
Here’s what we did.
We Launched The Generation Series
This year, we launched the Generation Series, our in-house brand of heating and cooling equipment, in partnership with a legacy manufacturer that designs, engineers, and assembles all products in the U.S.
Equipment options include a heat pump or air conditioner paired with a single- or variable-speed furnace. Customers can choose from our Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum equipment—each has specific advantages and features so our customers can pick the one that’s right for them.
Every Generation Series product comes with a 5-year parts and labor warranty, 5 years of preventive maintenance visits, and a manufacturer warranty of 10 years.
The customers who have opted for our brand so far are pleased with the performance, which means we are, too!
We Broke Through Our Relay For Life Goal (Again!)
This year, we completed our third Relay for Life, our annual fundraising effort to raise funds that help fight cancer. Once again, our employees and friends showed up with generosity, enthusiasm, and care.
Over the past three years, Capital has raised more than $33,000 for the Relay for Life of Thurston County – Part of the American Cancer Society. We’re so proud of that achievement and ready to add to our total in 2026.
Here’s what the 2025 numbers look like:
-
- Total raised by organizations across Thurston County: $558,664
- County-wide participation: 1,300 individuals, 97 teams, and 217 survivors
-
- Our goal at the beginning of 2025: $15,000
- How much we’d raised by the end of the 2025 campaign: $17,892
- Size of our team: 34 people walked the day of the event!
Right now, these donations are helping fund research in Washington State:
- $11.4 million is being invested in active research.
- 21 grants are currently in effect.
- 3 institutions are currently supported.
- 19 inspectors are currently supported.
A huge thank you to our Relay for Life team captain and payroll administrator, Clarissa! We’re so proud to be part of this work and are already raising funds for next year.
We Soared Past 2000 Online Reviews
When you look us up on Google, you can now peruse more than 2,000 reviews, a milestone we’re proud of. But are they good reviews? We’re delighted to report that they’re better than good—they’re awesome: we have an overall score of 4.9 stars!
Thank you to every customer who has trusted us enough to hire us and to those of you who took the time to leave us a review of your experience. It really does help other customers find us—and the positive feedback makes us feel pretty dang great.
We Bulked Up Our Customer Service Skills
We’ve been investing in training for years now. In addition to regular training this year, we put extra time and energy into building customer service skills.
It’s important to us that our technicians are not only great at problem-solving, design, repairs, and installation but at connecting with our customers, asking the right questions, and making the whole process as stress-free as possible.
This year, 38 of our employees participated in 9 separate trainings. These were in addition to our bi-weekly development training with apprentices to learn technical skills, customer service skills, and effective summary writing.
Skill-building included trainings in:
- New HVAC and plumbing equipment
- Plumbing technique
- Summary and estimate writing
- New refrigerant guidelines and best practices
- Ductless equipment
Our electrical team also got special training to learn how to install permanent decorative outdoor lighting for our residential customers. The lights themselves, made by Jellyfish Lighting, require specialized training to be able to install and test them properly.
We Added A Permanent Decorative Lighting Service
Now that our electricians are trained, we’re officially offering permanent decorative outdoor LED lights to our customers! It’s a big new offering that will allow people to have lights that mimic holiday lighting up year-round.
Here’s why we love these lights:
- The lights are permanent so you don’t have to get out the ladder every year to put up the lights and take them down for the holidays.
- When they’re off, they’re practically invisible.
- They’re completely customizable, for both colors and patterns.
- You can turn them on and off with just a tap and control them through an app on your phone.
- They’re good for celebrating the holidays, but also for game-day fun, party ambience, and safety.
We’re excited to offer something so unique, and helpful, to people.
We Filled Out Our Plumbing Team
We added yet another plumber to our team this year, meaning we now have four full-time certified plumbers on staff. That makes us more flexible, more available, and increases our team’s knowledge.
We Continued To Sponsor Incredible Community Arts, Services & Events
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that we love a homegrown event, performance, or fundraising effort.
In addition to the Relay for Life, we supported the arts, food access, and family friendly events in the Lacey-Olympia-Tumwater area. Here are some highlights
- We sponsored 3 events at the Washington Center.
- We continued to support the amazing work of Harlequin Productions.
- We sponsored Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia, encouraging young people to play music.
- We donated to All Kids Win to help make sure students who need food on the weekends are able to eat.
